Hi, my name is Liz Nguyen and I'm a Speech-Language Pathologist based in New Orleans, Louisiana. I'm the owner and clinical director of Dysphagia in Motion, providing endoscopic swallow studies to skilled nursing facilities and hospitals in the south Lousiana and Gulf Coast regions.

I earned my undergraduate and graduate degrees with honors from the University of Central Florida, with a dual-degree in Business Finance. In addition, I was granted a graduate certificate to serve English Learners with communication disorders through a research grant funded by the US Department of Education.

I've completed additional specialized training in treatment and management of dysphagia using endoscopy and working with tracheostomy/ventilator dependent and traumatic brain injury populations. My professional areas of interest and expertise include adult dysphagia, cerebrovascular disorders, medically fragile, and end-of-life/palliative care.

I have served as a Clinical Mentor for graduate students interested in the field of medical speech pathology and frequently guest lecture on a variety of topics relating to the Basics of Endoscopy, Medical Ethics, Supervision in Speech-Language Pathology, Counseling in Speech-Language Pathology, and Voice/Swallowing Disorders.

In summer 2015, I decided to relocate to New Orleans, Louisiana in the pursuit of crawfish and jazz music. I'm currently employed as the lead SLP at an acute care hospital in New Orleans and work part-time at a long-term acute care hospital located in the Garden District. I'm also currently in process of establishing a New Orleans Dysphagia Society in hopes to unite local clinicians and bridge the gap between evidence-based research and clinical practice. When I'm not assessing and treating swallowing, cognitive, and speech/language disorders, I enjoy biking around City Park, running the track at Audubon Park, and exploring the beautiful city of New Orleans!

I am actively licensed to practice in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Florida.
